Full plans

You will need to submit detailed drawings with your application. Once we’ve checked the plans, we will issue a decision notice.

Plan check

For full plans applications, the plans will be checked within two weeks and most applications are approved at this stage, subject to conditions where necessary. Where we don’t think it is safe to do this we will ask for further information or amendments. By law, we have to make a decision within eight weeks and we may have to reject plans where we haven’t received amendments within this timeframe. However, re-submissions are dealt with free of charge.

Inspections

Once you are ready to start work on the project, you will need to have various stages of construction inspected by us. You can arrange an inspection online, by telephone or post. We offer next (working) day inspections, when requested by 4pm Monday to Friday.
